The Tribes
The first Nations lived in tribes. Each tribe was sorted into a tribal group depending on where they lived. Each tribal group had a different way of doing things.
These are the groups of tribes you will be learning about on my website pages:

War
Each tribe had its own records of war. The Inuit tribes rarely attacked, the Algonquin and Iroquois did have a hostile relationship, the Iroquoians also had enemies living in Ontario (the Wendots, Huron,Tobacco, Erie, and Neautral tribes.) the tribes of the west coast often had disagreements with neighboring tribes which usually led to war, and the tribes of the mountains lived in peace with war only occurring occasionally.
Defense
The tribal groups all had quite similar methods of defense. They used weapons such as spears, bow and arrows, knives, daggers, and Clubs. The tribal groups also formed alliances to fight with them during war. Alliances would create a balance of power between the major tribal groups.
Fun Fact
The first nations wore feathers to count special coups(accomplishments and failures) during war.
